Talia Woodin
About
Talia has been documenting and organising movements for social change since her teens. Beginning in the youth climate justice movement she helped to mobilise youth groups in over 60 locations internationally, coordinating direct action campaigns and shaping communications strategies for groups such as Extinction Rebellion. As an adult she spent a year living on frontline protest camps as part of a national campaign resisting deforestation across the UK, documenting the movement through photojournalism and documentary film. Her work has also spanned advocacy and engagement with policy makers at UN and parliamentary levels, working with a coalition of NGO's campaigning against increasing anti-protest legislation in the UK, as well as helping to mobilise a grassroots campaign which saw tens of thousands protest against such legislation from 2021-2023. In 2021 she also became involved with Na'amod, a movement of British Jews campaigning against Israeli occupation and apartheid, and at the start of the genocide in 2023 shifted her organising and creative work to primarily focus on Palestine solidarity. Talia now organises with the direct action group Jewish Anti-Zionist Action, and is part of the coordination team for the Jewish Bloc, a national coalition of Jewish pro-Palestine groups in the UK. Alongside this she continues to work as a photographer and an impact film producer, as well helping to shape and coordinate communications strategies for a number of campaigns.
