Ricardo Levins Morales

Ricardo Levins Morales is a Puerto Rican‑born Jewish artist and organizer based in Minneapolis. His work is rooted in anti‑colonial, labor, and racial justice movements, and he describes his art as “political medicine” used to support healing from oppression. He was born into anti‑colonial activism, became involved in Chicago’s social movements in the late 1960s, and later co‑founded the Northland Poster Collective, a major hub for movement art from 1979 to 2009.
