Nurit Peled-Elhanan

Nurit Peled-Elhanan is a professor of language and education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, an activist, peace educator, and co-laureate of the 2001 Sakharov Prize for Human Rights and the Freedom of Speech. She has critically analyzed the ideological content of Israeli schoolbooks for years and strongly advocates against Israel’s militaristic, settler-colonial policies. She is a vocal opponent of Israeli occupation, apartheid, and racism, participating in platforms such as the Russell Tribunal on Palestine and the Bereaved Families for Peace. Her work addresses systemic injustice toward Palestinians and calls for the dismantling of oppressive structures.
