About

Neturei Karta is an ultra-Orthodox Jewish movement founded in Jerusalem in 1938 that the Wikipedia entry describes as a Jewish anti-Zionist organization whose stated purpose is anti-Zionism. It rejects Zionism and the existence of the modern State of Israel on theological grounds, holding that Jewish sovereignty in the land should not be re-established before the coming of the Messiah. The group is active internationally, participates in pro-Palestine protests, and frames its opposition to the Israeli state through a religious Jewish critique. In a 2023 statement reported by WAFA, Neturei Karta International asserted that Zionism has produced ongoing occupation, an apartheid system, and that “in no uncertain terms, the Zionists are committing genocide,” calling for an end to Israeli occupation as the path to ending bloodshed in Palestine.
