Jeff Halper

Jeff Halper is an American‑born Israeli anthropologist, author, and long‑time political activist who has lived in Israel since 1973. He is the co‑founder and Director of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD), an organization that resists the demolition of Palestinian homes and coordinates joint rebuilding efforts with Israelis, Palestinians, and international volunteers. Halper has written extensively on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, global securitization, and the political economy of occupation, and is a frequent lecturer and commentator on nonviolent strategies for achieving justice. Halper is also a co‑founder of the One Democratic State Campaign (ODSC) and a leading voice in the movement for a single democratic state in all of historic Palestine. He describes Israel as an apartheid regime and supports the BDS movement, including the academic boycott of Israeli institutions. His books — including War Against the People, An Israeli in Palestine, and Decolonizing Israel, Liberating Palestine — analyze Zionism as a settler‑colonial project and argue for a decolonial political future.
