Hadar Cohen

Hadar Cohen is an Arab Jewish scholar, mystic, and multi-media artist of Sephardic lineage originally from Jerusalem. She is the founder of Malchut, a mystical school focused on Jewish mysticism and decolonial frameworks for spiritual practice. Her work integrates performance art, writing, and ritual to address themes of multi-religious spirituality, social issues, and community building. Cohen’s dissent is rooted in her identity as a 10th-generation Jerusalemite and her rejection of the Zionist project, which she argues has erased Arab Jewish history and created a racial caste system. She publicly identifies as an anti-Zionist, advocating for the "end of Zionism" as a prerequisite for the collective liberation of both Jewish and Palestinian people. Her public scholarship highlights the "interdependence" of Jewish and Palestinian freedom and critiques the weaponization of trauma in the service of occupation.
