Elmer Berger

Elmer Berger (1908–1996) was a rabbi and outspoken anti-Zionist activist who challenged Zionist perspectives on Judaism and the state of Israel. He served as president of American Jewish Alternatives to Zionism, an organization advocating for Jewish cultural and religious identity independent of political Zionism. Berger was known for his writing, public speeches, and advocacy against the conflation of Zionism with global Jewish identity, expressing his dissent through his leadership and publications.
