Daniel Maté

Daniel Maté is a Canadian-born composer, lyricist, playwright and educator based in New York, co-author with his father Gabor Maté, and operator of a "mental chiropractic" service. A former Zionist youth-camp leader with Jewish family history (great-grandparents murdered at Auschwitz), he has emerged as a prominent voice opposing Israel’s conduct in Gaza, posting widely viewed reflections and speaking at events such as 'Irish Artists in Support of Palestine'. His public commentary criticizes Zionism’s premises and defends Palestinian humanity, positioning him as a Jewish dissenting voice on Zionism and Israeli policy.
