Daniel Levy

About

Daniel Levy is a British-Israeli political analyst, author, and former Israeli peace negotiator who served in the Oslo II and Taba talks. Now president of the U.S./Middle East Project, he has become a prominent Jewish Israeli dissident voice, publicly describing decades of occupation, settlement expansion, and land expropriation as a system of domination that violates Palestinian rights and undermines long‑term security. In briefings to the UN Security Council, major media interviews, and public discussions, Levy has highlighted the growing legal and scholarly designation of Israeli rule as apartheid in the territories under its control, and has referred to Israeli policy in Gaza in the context of genocide. His dissent is significant in that it comes from a former insider and practicing Jew who situates his criticism within a broader community of Jewish Israeli and diaspora dissent, and warns that equating Jewish identity with the actions of the Israeli state threatens both Palestinian rights and Jewish wellbeing.
