Avraham Burg

Avraham Burg is an Israeli writer, public intellectual, and former political leader whose career spans some of the most influential institutions in Israeli public life. Born in Jerusalem, he served as Speaker of the Knesset, Chairman of the Jewish Agency, and briefly as Interim President of Israel in 2000 following the resignation of Ezer Weizman. These roles placed him at the center of national political and communal decision‑making.
