Amira Hass

Amira Hass is a journalist born in Jerusalem in 1956 who has dedicated her career to reporting on Israeli policies and the Palestinian territories. Raised by Holocaust-survivor parents who supported her convictions, Hass diverged from mainstream perspectives by living in Gaza and later in Ramallah. Since 1989, she has worked with the Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz, focusing extensively on the Israeli occupation, travel restrictions, and the Pass System affecting Palestinian freedom of movement. She has authored influential works, such as 'Drinking the Sea at Gaza,' and curated collections of her articles including 'Reporting from Ramallah.' Hass continues advocating for awareness through her journalism and writings.
